Mid Mod opened in January of 2017, in the Lapa neighborhood of Lisbon, curated by Henrique Salgado. With a career in advertising and photography, Henrique worked as a decorating assistant who acquired a taste for design from the 50s, 60s, and 70s - Mid-Century Modern, which inspired the name. We sell, at Mid Mod, original pieces from this era, with a very specific design in which the sober lines intersect with contrast and vibrant color. For example, Peter Ghyczy's Garden Egg Chair (1968), Shiro Kuramata's Ghost Lamp table lamp (1972), and the Caravela table and chairs set by Portuguese brand Olaio. Mid Mod believes that the Midcentury Modern design should be accessible to all.
A Ilegítima has several pieces from Mid Mod, such as a pair of Karim Rashid Kant Stools, a Pair of Polished Chrome & Glass Shelving Unit, 1970s, and some lightnings.
